Training Overview

Our safety familiarisation training module allows trainees to safely learn about the hazards and procedures to follow when working around an aircraft. The training removes the need to ground the aircraft or provide a trainer to do the safety induction or refresher training.

Learning Outcomes

The focus of this training is to expose the trainee to an aircraft in an hangar and conduct a safety walk around which identifies the key hazards and educates the trainee on how to safely perform basic tasks.

This module covers:
Visual Inspection
Cockpit system safety
Where to locate and how to correctly insert the steering bypass pin
How to safely open engine cowls and attached bump pads
How to check locate and check the engine oil
Safety around engine blades and checking for damage
How to place wheel chocks
Where to locate and how to correctly insert landing gear pins
Understand safe turning circles
How to work safely at height
Hydraulics systems
It also covers the locations and dangers of:
Ground power
Pitot tubes location
Ram location
Static Port location
Water and waste location
Fuel locations
Engine Exhaust locations
Engine Exhaust locations
Landing gear doors
Ground Ops Equipment
Pressure Outflow location
APU location
Air Inlet location
The system allows you to practice with guided steps as a procedural trainer before undertaking an assessment to confirm the learning.
